Algonquin Road Pavement Installation Underway On South Side Lanes

It will take up to one month for the concrete to cure depending on air humidity and temperature, the division of transportation said.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Permanent concrete pavement installation has begun on the south side lanes of Algonquin Road, the McHenry County Division of Transportation announced Monday. The new concrete pavement is set in place within 24 and 48 hours, the McHenry County Division of Transportation said, however, it will take up to one month for the concrete to completely cure depending on air humidity and temperature.

Various driveways are closed for three weeks along Algonquin Road for the placement and curing of the concrete pavement. The work zone allows for trucks and equipment to be off of Algonquin Road, however the division of transportation said traffic impacts should be minimal.

Traffic will eventually shift to the newly paved south side lanes of Algonquin Road so crews can install new pavement on the north side.
