Seven AMC locations across Illinois opened on Friday, and another 35 are set to reopen next week.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Moviegoers rejoice: AMC Lake In The Hills 12 is set to reopen next Friday.
The AMC Theatres location in Lake In The Hills is one of 35 theaters across the state reopening on Jan. 29, joining another seven that opened their doors on Friday.
In a news release, the movie theater company said it is working with public health and safety experts to ensure its reopening is safe for both staff and customers. Per state requirements, it is also restricting the capacity of each auditorium to 25 percent of its allocated seating.

Theater employees, meanwhile, will thoroughly clean auditoriums between showings and disinfect auditoriums each night, the company said. Some theaters have also been outfitted with MERZ 13 air filters, and hand sanitizing stations and disinfectant wipe dispensers have been dispersed throughout theaters.
