Art On The Fox Is This Weekend In Algonquin
The fest will again be held at Riverfront Park along the Fox River.

From Art on The Fox: The Village of Algonquin and the Algonquin Public Arts Commission are pleased to announce the 11th Annual “Art on the Fox” fine art show will be held on Fathers’ Day Weekend, Saturday, June 16th and Sunday, June 17th.
Art on the Fox is produced by JMF Events and sponsored in part this year by several sponsors including Algonquin Square Apartment Homes and E.J. Plesko and Associates, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Kyuki-Do Martial Arts, Algonquin Commons, Chiro One Wellness Centers, Handmade on Main, Jewel Osco, The Home Depot, Port Edward Restaurant, and Star 105.5FM. “We continue to be blessed by the strong response our community provides in support of the arts,” said Village President John Schmitt. “Every year, additional sponsors step up and provide more opportunities to promote art in Algonquin.”
Art on the Fox is free and open to the public, and artists will have artwork for sale in a variety of media, including sculpture, painting, photography, jewelry, and glass. Returning artists include award-winning favorites like Matthew Brej and James Vitullo. Art on the Fox will once again feature the Picasso Zone, a children’s art area with free projects and demonstrations, food vendors including the local Riverbottom Ice Cream shop, and folk music performed by local residents including Phil Munton, Mary Lai, and Merv Collins. Also this year will be a “Foxes of Art on the Fox” contest, with over 75 painted ceramic foxes to be displayed and voted on during the event weekend (photo attached). Algonquin’s Art on the Fox will run from 10:00am to 5:00pm both days, and will once again be held in Riverfront Park, which overlooks the scenic Fox River in the heart of the community’s historic downtown. Riverfront Park is located on North Harrison Street, just one block north of Algonquin Road (IL Route 62).
