Boat Capsizes Near East Bank Of Fox River In Algonquin; Fire District Rescues Victim

The patient suffered no injuries and was not transported to a hospital after the April 16 incident.

At 1:06 p.m., April 16, 2021, the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded to a report of a person in distress in the Fox River near the intersection of North Harrison Street and Algonquin Road in Algonquin.

A nearby resident notified the 911 dispatch center of a male victim in the water yelling for help.

First responding emergency personnel arrived on the scene within four minutes and observed a person holding onto their capsized boat in the water toward the east bank of the Fox River.

Firefighters quickly removed the patient from the water and brought them into an ambulance to warm them. The patient suffered no injuries and was not transported to a hospital. No fire district injuries were reported.
