Dog & Puppy Foster Homes Needed for 7/13

Our shelter partners in Tennessee are over"pup"ulated! The state does not have Spay and Neuter Laws like Illinois and they are doing the best they can to shelter all of the dogs and puppies in need.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue would like to help these dogs and puppies by bringing them to Illinois on Saturday 7/13. We don't have a physical location, so we rely on the generosity of our community to open their homes to these dogs while they find their families. There's no better way to spend your summer!

Here are some of the souls hoping to hitch a ride to freedom:

Blu - About 10 month old female lab mix. She is more petite than most Labs, but she has the happy and playful Lab personality.

"J" Puppies - There are seven cuties to choose from in this litter! These pups are sweet and social. They can be fostered as one or in pairs! They're all about 8-10lbs and 8 weeks old

Kana - A beautiful and friendly pit bull mix. She's REALLY close to giving birth to her litter of puppies. Fostering a mom and puppies is challenging but so much fun and so rewarding! It's an experience you won't forget!

Sierra - Sweet as pie one year old pointer mix. She's just 35lbs. This girl just craves a human to call her own!

Janie - Mama to the 7 lab mix puppies. She is a shelter favorite! Janie is sweet with everyone and said to be a calm and gentle dog. She even walks well on a leash! Janie is heartworm positive, so she would need a foster home for 2-3 months while she completes treatment.

Buster - This 3 year old Mastiff/Shepherd mix is another shelter favorite. He keeps a clean kennel and gets along great with other dogs. This 60lb boy loves to give hugs to the shelter volunteers! Buster is heartworm positive, so he will need a foster home for 2-3 months while he completes treatment.

Highness - This pointer mix girl is 30lbs. She loves people and other dogs. She's very playful and always trying to get the dog in the next kennel to run and play with her!

Budro- This poor 2 year old retriever/lab mix had a rough start in life. But his tough times have not broken his spirit! He's a friendly guy who just wants love.

Remi - This 1 year old 40lb shepherd mix is a typical fun-loving pup. He would make an excellent family dog. He would do best with an active family that has a yard for him to run in or a place for him to get exercise.

Bucky - Two year old male boxer/lab mix. He's 65lbs of love. He's non-reactive to other dogs. He's also a hugger. Bucky is heartworm positive and will need treatment, which Safe Haven will provide.

Safe Haven provides you with everything you need while you foster. You also have the first option to adopt the dog you foster.
