Fatal Road Rage Incident: Victim ID'd, Cause Of Death Released
Alex T. Hall Jr., 52, of Carpentersville died following a road rage altercation that ended at a West Dundee gas station Thursday morning .
WEST DUNDEE, IL — The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified the driver killed following a road rage altercation that ended at a West Dundee gas station Thursday morning. The man's name is Alex T. Hall Jr., 52, of Carpentersville.
According to the coroner's office, Hall died Sunday, June 13 around 11 a.m. at Advocate Sherman Hospital from injuries he received following a heated exchange on a local highway that carried over to the Casey's gas station and convenience store at 700 S. Eighth St.
Hall was transported to the Kane County Morgue where a medical examiner performed an autopsy Monday. The preliminary cause of death is listed as "blunt trauma to the neck," the coroner's office confirmed. Toxicology samples have been sent to a forensic lab for further analysis.

Witnesses told the ABC affiliate in Chicago that Hall was attacked by at least one person who punched and beat him with fists, then sped away shortly after pulling in to pump gas.
"I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the victim's family and let them know that they are in the thoughts and prayers of the entire West Dundee Police Department," West Dundee Police Chief Anthony Gorski said in a statement Sunday to Patch.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office said it is assisting the West Dundee Police Department with the investigation into the incident.
Chief Gorski said his office has identified the people believed to be responsible for the beating; however, at this time no one has been charged in connection with the case.
