Fireworks, Live Music Planned As Sunset Fest Returns

The three-day event is in its twentieth year. After being cancelled last year, the festival over Labor Day weekend will return.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Plans are in the works to hold the Summer Sunset Festival in Lake in the Hills this summer.

After the festival took a break last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be back over Labor Day weekend "to bring the community together and celebrate the festival's twentieth anniversary," according to a recent update from Lake in the Hills officials. So far, plans are in the works to have live music, a bags tournament, car show, craft fair, carnival and fireworks during the three-day event at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road.
