First Tree Lighting In Revamped 'Plaza' Planned for Dec. 7
The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place in the revamped plaza area in Old Town Algonquin.

ALGONQUIN, IL — The village of Algonquin will officially kick of the holiday season on Dec. 7. The village is hosting its first-ever Miracle on Main event, which will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The event will replace the village's Holiday Rock on the Fox, which typically took place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and included a tree lighting ceremony in Riverfront Park.
Miracle on Main will kick off with a tree lighting ceremony at "The Plaza" in Old Town Algonquin, which is next to Algonquin's Historic Village Hall at 2 South Main Street, according to a post on the village of Algonquin Facebook page.
