Flood Warning Through Weekend In Kane, Lake, McHenry Counties

Not only is there a long-term flood warning, but the National Weather Service also issued a freeze warning. Here's the forecast.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS — The flood warning issued by the National Weather Service is lasting through the weekend for parts of northern Illinois, including Kane, Lake and McHenry counties. The Des Plaines and Fox rivers may flood in certain areas, and officials are warning motorists to turn around when they see flooded roadways.

What's more, the temperatures are dropping. High temperatures aren't expected to exceed the lower 50's this weekend. Low temperatures will reach as low as 30.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning saying from 1 to 9 a.m. Friday, saying crops and other "sensitive vegetation" will die if left outdoors and uncovered. Also, be sure to consider the temperature for outdoor animals.
