Happy Mother’s Day To Deborah Mahler

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Michelle Mahler's letter to her mom:

Dear Mommy,

First, I would like to wish you the best Mother’s Day ever. I hope you have a day filled with lots of fun and love because you definitely deserve it.

Second, I wanted you to know how important you are to me and how precious you truly are — not only to me, but to everyone. You are always willing to help even when it puts you in a bad place. I can never thank you enough for all you have done for me. You gave me life, you supported me in my life and, even more impressive than any of that, you brought me back to life.

When I made myself ill you stepped up to the plate to be my voice when I couldn’t speak, being my mind, helper and so much more. You gave me the strength, desire and inspiration to pick myself back up and become a better me. You lost business due to my illness, but have never said I messed up your life. Instead, you say that you have invested your time in helping me in my life.

You never throw my mistakes back in my face, you just keep me going, helping me to come back to a regular and stronger me. I am sorry for any pain or troubles I have ever caused you. You didn’t and don’t deserve that. Again, I can never thank you enough for all you have done for me. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be here to write this letter to you.

I can never replace all the things you gave up to invest time into saving me, but please know that I love and appreciate all of it. In my opinion, you truly are the best mom ever and no one can or will tell me any different. You should be the model of what a mother truly is and does for her children and the model every mother out there should strive to be. You should be the mother teaching parenting classes because you are the best mother ever. I feel so lucky and blessed to have you as my mother.
