Kane County Sheriff: Accidental Shooting in Elgin Township

One man injured in early Sunday morning shooting.

 

A man shot inside his home on Woodcliff Drive in unincorporated Elgin Township was treated for a gunshot wound at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, the Kane County Sheriff’s office said.

The man’s identity was not release, but he received a non-life threatening injury, according to a release.

He was shot when he and his brother, both in their 20’s, were handling a revolver around 12:30 a.m. The revolver accidentally went off and one of the brothers was shot in the abdomen, authorities said.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this incident. No charges have been filed in relation to this shooting.
