Lions Armstrong Pool Will Not Open

Algonquin's recreation department is planning for more programs in July and waiting to hear if playgrounds can reopen.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool will not be opening this summer, village officials said Tuesday. The splash pad at the pool will also remain closed this season as the pool needs to be filled with water for the splash pad to operate, Katie Gock, the recreation superintendent for the village of Algonquin, told Patch in an e-mail response.

The Algonquin Recreation Department is planning to bring back some of its sports and fitness programs in July. And is planning for a drive-in movie in July, which residents can pre-register for online now.

More information regarding programs that are available this summer can be found on the village's website.
