McHenry Man Arrested on 10 Counts of Child Pornography

Luis Ortiz, 29, of the 4800 block of Bonner Drive in McHenry, was arrested Tuesday on charges of distribution and reproduction of child pornography, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police reported.

Specifically, Ortiz was arrested on eight counts of distribution of child pornography, a class X felony, one count of reproduction of child pornography, a class X felony and one count of possession of child pornography.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, received information regarding suspected downloading and sharing of child pornography. There has been a two-month investigation. The delivered a search warrant on Tuesday.

Ortiz is currently in the custody of the McHenry County Correctional Facility. Ortiz will next appear in court on May 8.
