Spring Cleaning: Taking Advantage Of Bulk Pickup In Algonquin
Here's how to get rid of old mattresses, grills, patio furniture and more.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Springtime means warmer days and outdoor activities. It also means it's time for spring-cleaning. Luckily, the Village of Algonquin has a plan to help residents spruce up their neighborhoods and reduce fire hazards, including bulk waste.
On April 17 and 24, Groot will offer free bulk trash pickup for large items like toys, old clothes, couches, beds, dressers, grills and patio furniture. Waste must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m.
Pickup will be completed on April 17 for residents whose usual trash collection takes place on Thursdays. Pick up will be completed on April 24 for Friday customers.

Groot will also continue collecting leaves and branches tied in bundles, along with leaves in standard paper yard waste bags marked with a red "X" through April 16.
