$400K Grant Helps Cover Stoneybrook Park Upgrades

The park has new basketball, bocce ball, volleyball and pickleball courts, as well as gaga ball and bags.

Thank you to the community members that came out on June 5 to officially open the new and improved Stoneybrook Park to the community! The event included a ribbon cutting, tree planting and a special ribbon cutting for the children in attendance.

Last improved in 1997, Stoneybrook Park was redeveloped to add several new amenities with the help of a $400,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant secured by the Village from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Stop by soon (1200 Huntington Drive North) to enjoy the new basketball, bocce ball, volleyball and pickleball courts, as well as play a round of gaga ball and bags. While you are there, sit in the shade under the new picnic shelter after you take a stroll around the new multi-use trail or, at the very least, swing on the new playground set!
