ALGONQUIN, IL — An Algonquin woman accused of fatally stabbing an Algonquin couple in November will undergo a psychological evaluation. Arin M. Fox, 39, has already received a psychological evaluation that determined she was fit to assist in her own defense during court proceedings in the double homicide case and now will undergo a different evaluation that will look at her state of mind at the time of Noreen and Leonard Gilards' deaths, the Daily Herald reports.

Fox's attorney, Kim Messer, requested the case be continued during a Friday hearing so there would be time to complete the latest evaluation. Prosecutors have said Fox was receiving psychiatric treatment at least two months before she was arrested in connection with the murder and has a history of mental health problems.

Fox remains behind bars on a $5 million bail. She is charged with four counts of first-degree murder for accusations she fatally stabbed Noreen S. Gilard, 69, and Leonard J. Gilard Jr., 73.

Arin Fox and the Gilards' son dated at "one point," but it's unclear if they were in a relationship at the time of the murder, Algonquin deputy police chief Ryan Markham told Patch. The son was "not involved" in the stabbing, authorities have said.

Fox also faces aggravated battery and domestic battery charges for allegations she pushed Leonard Gilard two days before the stabbing occurred, according to McHenry County Court documents.
