Michael W., “Love their brunch. We came here 2 years ago for Mother’s Day and decided to try Easter Brunch. Such a variety! We had a delicious strawberry and spinach salad as well as breads to get started. They had great breakfast items like bacon, sausage, creme brulee French toast, biscuits, gravy, egg casserole, etc. They had the most awesome macaroni and cheese and borsin mashed potatoes. A great cold seafood platter with peel and eat shrimp, mussels, and salmon. Their lamb with mint-jalapeno sauce and their rare sirloin were just delicious. Finally, lots of desserts cut small so you can sample many of them. It is pricey but the quality is there. We already have reservations for Mother’s Day!
I must add our waitress was stellar. Our son has a peanut allergy and received an Easter egg: inside were Reeces Peanut Butter cups. She quickly grabbed the egg, went back and washed the egg, then brought it out again with a dollar inside. If you are served by Andrea consider yourself very blessed.”

Benedict’s La Strata, 40 N Williams St., Crystal Lake| 4 stars
Vince V., “Let’s just say that this is the best breakfast and lunch place in the local area. Great food that is not ordinary but really good, that can be devilishly fattening or really healthy. Go there and enjoy!”
Duke’s Alehouse & Kitchen, 110 N Main St., Crystal Lake| 4 stars
Stef M., I really enjoy the food. It’s high quality and fresh to order. The alehouse salad is everyone’s favorite - just an everyday side/appetizer salad but it outpaces the competition as its always fresh (dont like wilty salad), garnished with a fresh cheese and homemade dressing. The mussels are excellent - simmered in a garlic and tomato broth and served with toasted cheese points - delicious!! I never new mussels could be this good.
Richard Walker’s Pancake House, 5680 Northwest Hwy., Crystal Lake| 3.5 stars
D S., “This is a fun place to go to for breakfast. Be fair warned that on Sundays from 9:30am-12pm the church crowds come. There have been times where it was a good 30-45 minute wait. But it is worth the wait. This place has your standard breakfast as well as some delicious specials. They also have a reward program that gives you $5 off your bill. My son used to love the pigs in a side car (sausage links wrapped in pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and a orange dipping sauce), my husband and I like the omelets. Coffee is good and plentiful. Waitstaff is always accommodating. Fun place to people watch.”
Port Edward Restaurant, 20 W Algonquin Rd., Algonquin| 3 stars

While it is guarenteed you will eat well. Plus afterward, you can shop at one of the most unique gift shops you will see anywhare, and of which beats most anything on “The Magnificent Mile,” in Chicago. In this shop, you will see gifts from all over the world, some one-of-a-kind itmes. These gifts are amongst the finest anybody will find anywhere~! They even carry, rings, earings & necklesses, made from, Alabastor, Whale Tooth, Ivory, Marble, Gold, Silver and Gems. In this Iconic Place, floats a sail boat, in a giant fish tank, of which a party can have their dinner or sit out inside and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Fox River at one of it’s widest locations, amounst marina’s and beautiful homes on it’s East & West shores.
