Your Guide To Founders' Days 2019

The four-day festival in Algonquin gets underway Thursday, July 25, and continues through Sunday, July 28.

ALGONQUIN, IL — It's almost time for food, fun and fireworks as Algonquin's Founders' Days gets underway Thursday, July 25, and continues through Sunday, July 28. The festivities at Spella Park, 2610 Harnish Drive, will officially start at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The fest is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Highlights include a parade, which steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday; fireworks, which serve as a finale to the festival and will light up the sky starting at 9:15 p.m. Sunday; and plenty of musical entertainment.

Headliners at this year's fest are: Pirates over 40 on Thursday night, Hillbilly Rockstarz on Friday night and Fool House on Saturday night. Sunday night will cap off with a fireworks show, and Mr. Capone's Bootlegger Band will take the stage before that at 7 p.m.

Several other entertainers will also perform throughout the festival and other festival highlights include: a car show on Saturday, a carnival, the Taste of Founders, a Founder Days' 10K and 5K run on Sunday, kids activities and a bake off. Those wishing to skip the hassle of trying to find a parking spot near Spella Park can hop one of the shuttles available during the fest. East side shuttles and parking will be available at St. Margaret Mary School, 119 S. Hubbard, from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, from 2 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday. West side parking will be available in the parking lots of JC Penney and the former Toys R' Us and Gander Mountain and in the District 300 lot from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

The cost for tickets to this year's fest if $5 for daily admission per person. For $35, you can get an all-weekend pass, which includes drink tokens, express entry line and more.
