1 Dead In Single-Car Crash In Lake Co.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Wauconda, authorities said. The collision occurred when a 2016 Lincoln MKC, which was headed west on West Neville Road just west of Darrell Road, went off the roadway, struck a tree and rolled back into the road at about 11 a.m. on Friday, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived, they found the driver and sole occupant of the car dead at the scene, according to the news release.

An autopsy will be scheduled with the Lake Coroner's Office. The crash remains under investigation.
