The Minnesota woman visited the Barrington man's home after the two met on a dating app, according to reports.
BARRINGTON, IL — A Barrington man accused of sexually assaulting a Minnesota woman he met through a dating app in late 2018 was arrested Sunday. According to the Daily Herald, 45-year-old Jason Griffin is being held on $30,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 12 for charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
According to Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Jennifer Gates, Griffin and the woman communicated by phone and met in person in March 2019 when he was in Minnesota for work.
Griffin arranged for the woman to come see him in Barrington, the news report said.

Despite indicating he'd take off work during the woman's April visit, Griffin didn't follow through, leading the woman to try to change her flight reservation even though it was under Griffin's name, according to Gates. The night before her trip home, the woman fell asleep on Griffin's bed, and awoke to him sexually assaulting her, Gates told the Daily Herald.
Gates added that the woman returned home and went to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with trauma. After she reported what happened, Minnesota police contacted Barrington police, leading to the arrest, Gates added.
