Barrington Memorial Day 2018: Services, Events

Here's how to celebrate and remember the men and women in uniform during Memorial Day 2018.

BARRINGTON, IL — There will be Memorial Day events taking place in Barrington on Monday, May 28. Before the 10 a.m. parade, representatives from Veterans of Foreign Wars' Barrington Memorial say veterans of all wars are invited for breakfast at the Breadbasket Restaurant, 121 Park Avenue, at 6 a.m. The organization also notes the following Memorial services will take place at these cemeteries:

  • 7:30 a.m. – White Cemetery on Cuba Road
  • 8:00 a.m. – St. Paul Cemetery on East Main Street
  • 8:30 a.m. – Barrington Center – Sutton Road & Route 68
  • 9:00 a.m. – Union Cemetery – On Route 62 (West of Sutton Road)

All veterans, as well as other organizations such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and others are invited to participate in parade and Evergreen Cemetery service.

Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms, though it's not required.

  • 10:00 a.m. – Parade will assemble at Cook, Park and Station Streets; Parade marshall will direct participants to their parde positions.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Start time
  • 11 a.m. – Services at Evergreen Cemetery

Parade route:

The parade route begin at the Veterans Memorial, proceed west on Main Street, left on Dundee Avenue and right into Evergreen Cemetery.
