Barrington Metra Train Evacuated Over Suspicious Package Report
The Village of Barrington reported the train was evacuated and a K9 unit conducted a sweep for bombs, delaying train routes on the NW Line.
BARRINGTON, IL — A Metra train was evacuated Tuesday afternoon at the Barrington station, 201 Spring Street, after the Village of Barrington Police Department received a report of a suspicious package at 3:30 p.m., the Village said in a news release. The train was evacuated and a canine unit conducted a sweep for bombs, delaying train routes on the Northwest Line by more than an hour.
Authorities determined there wasn't a threat, and trains were moving again at 4:55 p.m., according to the Village.
