Barrington Police: DUIs, Fraud, Theft, and Identity Theft Reported

Police reports from the week of June 3.

Note: The following information was obtained from the Barrington police department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

Suspicious incident
An unknown male in a vehicle stopped and photographed children taking a walk with the babysitter in the area of South Grove Avenue and Russell Street on May 31, police said. The incident was reported on June 7.

DUI arrest
 
Maxwell S. Younger, 21, of 699 Cherrywood Drive, Wheeling, was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over .08, speeding and improper lane usage on June 6, police said. Younger was stopped at Route 14 and Main St. He was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of June 20.

Resident victimized twice
A victim of a burglary to vehicle that occurred in Barrington reported an unknown woman in Texas accessed the victim’s bank accounts then emptied all the money, police said. The victim filed a new report on June 4.

Grocery store reports fraud
 
Officers took a report for deceptive practice and check fraud at Jewel, 150 West Main Street, on June 4, according to police. A customer wrote bad checks to purchase gift cards, reports stated.

Criminal damage arrest

Nicholas J. Harff, 18, of 428 North Ave., Barrington, was charged with criminal damage to property and consumption of alcohol by a minor on June 4, police said. Harff subject was released on bond and given a Lake County court date of July 17.

Theft reported
Someone took four aluminum stepladders and four drop cloths from a front yard curb area in the 200 block of West Russell Street on June 3, police reports stated.

DUI arrest
Andriy Stepanov, 53, of 1270 N. Sterling Ave., Palatine, was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over .08 and improper lane usage, according to police. Stepanov was stopped June 2 at Route 14 and Berry Rd. Stepanov was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of July 3.

DUI arrest
Humbelina Martinez, 50, of 34248 N. Goldenrod Road, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence, no insurance, improper standing on roadway and impeding the flow of traffic at Route 59 and Barrington Road, police said. Martinez was arrested June 1 and released on bond with a Cook County court date of July 11.

DUI arrest
     
George M. Hansen, 49, of 730 Oxbow Lane, Barrington, was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over .08, improper lane usage and improper turn at Ela Rd. and Route 14 on May 26, police said. Hansen was released on bond and given a Cook County court date of June 20 at 9 a.m.
