Woman Took Flamethrower To Car, Reported It Stolen: Cops
Police say Julie Gagne used a flamethrower to set her car on fire in Barrington and later reported it stolen in Schaumburg.

BARRINGTON, IL - A Barrington woman has been accused of using an X15 Flamethrower to set her car on fire and then reporting the vehicle stolen. Julie Gagne, 47, of the 500 block of South Summit Street faces charges with both the Barrington and Schaumburg police departments.
Barrington police say an investigation determined that on Nov. 10 in the 1500 block of South Grove Avenue Gagne used an X15 Flamethrower, a device that uses a mix of more than 3 gallons of fuel and napalm to throw flames as far as 50 feet, to set fire to a car that was registered in her name. She later reported the car stolen to the Schaumburg Police Department, a report police say she later retracted.
Gagne appeared in bond court on Wednesday on one count of arson, a Class 2 felony. She turned herself in to police in Barrington one day before.
