
The Barrington Caribou Coffee, which just opened last summer as a kiosk at will close this Sunday, April 14, at noon, according to a store employee.
The Barrington store is among 80 Caribou Coffee stores that will close nationwide.
 The Minneapolis-based chain was taken private in a $340 million deal with Joh. A. Benkiser, a German investment company, this year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The new owner will close 80 stores, and convert another 88 into Peet's Coffee & Tea. Â
The Long Grove Caribou, which just opened in December, is one of the coffee shops which will remain open and convert to a Peet's, according a store employee.
