College Of Lake County: CLC Trustees And Faculty Member Receive ICCTA Awards

Humanities and English instructor Mandi Urban received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award. Nominated in April, Urban is also a valued and collaborative colleague in the legal studies department.

For three consecutive years, a faculty member from CLC received this state-wide award recognizing outstanding faculty. During the June board meeting, trustee Julie Shroka remarked how this trend reflects how great our faculty are. Her comments were met with applause.

CLC trustee emeritus Dr. William M. Griffin was awarded a certificate of merit and lifetime membership, while fellow trustee emeritus Richard A. Anderson was given honorary membership, the organization’s highest award. Anderson is the longest serving trustee in the state. Both Griffin and Anderson retired from the Board of Trustees in April after serving a combined 71 years governing CLC. They both remain involved in serving community colleges in Illinois.
