Developer Gets Village’s Ok to Finish Subdivision

The former Hamilton Court of Barrington is getting a new lease on life with a developer seeking to finish subdivision improvements and build single-family homes on eight lots.

William Ryan Homes is under contract to purchase the property, now known as Kainer Court subdivision, and recently received approval from the Board of Trustees

The village approved a special use planned development ordinance in 2006 for 11 lots in the subdivision. However, only three lots have been developed.

The Garlands of Barrington, which abuts the subdivision, raised some concerns about the developer over the landscape and height issues. However, the village cleared the way for the development.

William Ryan Homes will have to replace any landscaping that is damaged on the property and finish streets or other items not completed yet.

“We are really exited to have a developer for this property and move it forward,” said Jennifer Tennant, assistant director of engineering and building. “ We think the ordinance and amendment is in such a way that will be able to meet everyone’s needs.”
