Dominic Leaves Hospital, 'Very Happy to be Home'

Barrington boy hit by train released from hospital and doing well, Hough Street School principal reports.

, came home from the hospital yesterday.

"It's really good news. The fact that he is home and will continue to receive physical therapy at home," said Hough Street School Principal Lori Wilcox.

Wilcox said earlier this week, staff at Lutheran General Hospital, were unsure whether to continue physical therapy in the hospital or at home. Dominic lost his foot in the accident.

"It was a little quicker than expected. They decided to do physical therapy at home so it looks like he is doing a little better than expected," Wilcox said.

Wilcox said a teacher who communicated with Dominic's mom, Gayle, reported that Dominic is very happy to be home. Wilcox said it is unknown when Dominic will be able to return to school.

Hough Street School continues to receive cards and letters for Dominic and will continue to deliver them to him.
