Fire Crews Investigate Odor At Barrington Village Hall

Those living in the nearby area were contacted and told to say inside with doors and windows shut, the fire department said, in a release.

BARRINGTON, IL — The Barrington Fire Department said 50 fire and police personnel from more than 24 agencies responded to a Saturday night to an odor reported at Barrington Village Hall, 200 S. Hough Street. According to a release from the department, Barrington Fire Department crews were called to the address at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, where a small chlorine leak was found at one of the Village's well sites.

According to the release, the Lake County Hazardous Materials Response Team was also called to the area, and the leak was isolated and stopped. Those living in the nearby area were contacted and told to say inside with doors and windows shut, the release said.

No one was injured, and crews were finished at the site by 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the department.
