Barrington Fire Department and the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District have ended the search for a man and his dog seen in Flint Creek.
A credible witness told authorities he saw the man in the creek at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday then saw the man disappear around a bend.
Fire Lt. Mike Brown said dive teams were called out as well as crews experienced in using sonar equipment in water recoveries.
Firefighters did due diligence in following up on the witness's information,Brown said.
