Help Barrington Family Get Scarlett Moving
A fundraising goal of $70,000 will provide 2-year-old Scarlett with a power wheelchair and a vehicle to transport the chair.

Scarlett Sepe turned 2 on March 31 and as she gets older her power chair will become her sole means of transportation.
Scarlett was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which is the number one genetic killer of infants and toddlers, according to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation.
SMA is a degenerative, genetic neuromuscular disease characterized by muscle atrophy and weakness. There is no cure for the disease.

Rachel Sepe, a Hough Street School teacher and Scarlett's mom, is currently hosting a fundraiser on gofundme to get Scarlett moving.
"Scarlett desires to be able to move about outside and be able to do things like chase her brother and sister or navigate a park or zoo on her own rather than be confined to a stroller. We also wish for her to be able to go to school and access her environment without barriers to her success," writes Rachel Sepe.

Scarlett cannot move by herself and requires assistance for every activity in her day. She needs a power wheelchair and vehicle to transport the wheelchair. The gofundme fundraiser has a goal of $70,000 to help Scarlett gain independence.
