Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Looking for a few things to do this weekend in and around Barrington?

Penny Road Pub, 545 Penny Road, Barrington, has live music every Friday and Saturday. Performances on Friday, Aug. 2 start at 6 p.m. with the Aaron Williams Band. Also performing is Teeze and DUI. The headliner is Cheap Thrill, performing at 10:30 p.m. There is a $15 cover. The pub’s website includes performances for the rest of the weekend.

Barrington Running Co. has Fun Runs every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. in the summer. This is a great way to connect with local runners. The distance is three to 7 miles, and all paces are welcome. Families can experience the Barrington Park District’s Big Trucks Event on Saturday, Aug. 3. Children can climb in and explore over 25 different big trucks, from fire engines to dump trucks at Beese Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information go to the park district's website or call 847-381-0687.
