Update: Power Back on at Barrington Library

Update, 1:53 p.m.

The power is back at the library and doors are open, according to the library Facebook page. 

April 10, 12 p.m.

A power outage in the vicinity of Northwest Highway and Hough Street affected about 357 customers, according to the ComEd outage website. Some of the outages were scheduled maintenance, however the cause of the outage at other sites were under investigation.

The Barrington Area Library is one of the sites affected by the outage. The library shared this message this morning on its Facebook page: "Power is out at the library! We will remain closed until we have power. Our server is also down so Web services are unavailable as well. We apologize for the inconvenience. South Branch is open this morning as usual."

According to ComEd, the estimated time for power restoration at the library is 2 p.m.
