Nothing Small Town About Comedy Brewing At Small Town Brewery on August 19th

Something really great has been brewing at Small Town Brewery in Wauconda, Illinois, over the past few months.

Sure, you'll find STB's famous artisan selections, like Not Your Father's Root Beer, Not Your Father's Ginger Ale and other varieties. But, since this past spring, the local producer of nationally recognized brews has opened its doors to live stand-up comedy, which it turns out, pairs well with their unique beverages.

The comedy showcases at STB, which occur once a month, a co-produced by area stand-up comedian, Bobby Hayes, and comedian, Larry Bloom of Highland Park based Funnier By The Lake Comedy (www.FunnierByTheLake.com), which also co-produces shows with Hayes in Grayslake, and other shows in Highland Park.

"Bobby started performing at my monthly comedy shows in Highwood," says Bloom. "He then began producing a showcase in Grayslake, in the summer of 2015. Those showcases have been very successful for everyone--the comics, the crowd and the venue."

Eventually, Hayes and Bloom decided to combine their producing efforts for the Grayslake and Wauconda shows.

Each showcase features professional and up-and-coming comedians from Chicago the surrounding suburbs and the region. This Friday's Small Town Brewery showcase includes the following lineup :

- Ricky March (Host)
- Larry Bloom
- Rebekah Gibson
- Dez Miller
- Elaine Phillips
- Vickie Eisenstein
- Peter Lipsey
- Lance Richards (Headliner)

The show is free to attend, so buy some brew and tip the wait staff!
