Obituary: Chris Watschke, 47
A funeral service will be held Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Lake Forest.

Chris Watschke, 47, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 22, 2018 in Barrington, Illinois with his wife, Dianna and mother, Doris by his side. He was born in Lake Forest, Illinois on August 31, 1970 to Werner and Doris (Gordon) Watschke.
Chris is survived by his wife of 18 years Dianna Watschke née Devine; their two beautiful children Christian and Grace; mother Doris Watschke née Gordon; brother Werner (Cristina) Watschke; sister Sue (Kurt) Knutson; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend of over 40 years Bob (Kerri) Schrimpf. Chris was preceded in death by his father Werner Watschke.
Chris had an infectious smile and jokester personality and people loved his genuine friendships he had with those he held closest to his heart. He loved camping with his family and was known as the “grill master” to all who enjoyed his creations. Chris always looked forward to his annual trips to the UP with his friends where they would go snowmobiling and four wheeling, as well as tinkering in his garage. Chris started his career as a mechanic working with his father at their family shop Sauganash Service. He then went on to Libertyville Toyota for 8 years before he settled down at Lexus of Highland Park for the past 18 years.

Visitation will be held on from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 680 West Deerpath Road, Lake Forest.

Memorial contributions may be expressed to places that held a special place in Chris’s heart in his name-Save A Pet in Grayslake and to Laurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago in loving memory of Chris.
