BACOA and The Garlands are honoring the November Caregiver Awareness Month with a special BACOA Education Forum Series event at The Garlands on November 6, 2019.

The keynote speaker will be Trish Abbey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with In-Home Counseling. Ms. Abbey, who specializes in working with older adults, will cover mindfulness techniques that help reduce caregiver anxiety, as well as helping them stay focused on their goals. Her presentation will also offer suggestions on “making memories,” techniques to relieve holiday stress and keep the family focused on the joy of the holiday season.

BACOA Executive Director Terri Channer stated, “We are pleased to launch our Education Forum series with such a timely event. As the holiday season approaches, caregivers encounter added stress and will surely benefit from encouragement and fresh ideas.”
