Senior Warden at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Dies

The memorial service for Richard “Dick” J. Poje, 68, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd., Barrington Hills, IL, 60010. Inurnment will be in the Church’s columbarium. 

Dick worked as a financial consultant for many years, serving as president at Phoenix-Hecht and partner at Treasury Strategies. He was also very involved at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Barrington Hills, where he had served as Senior Warden. Dick was an avid listener of music, collecting many different genres of music. He received his Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. 

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (nee Rathbun); children, Jason (Heather) of LaGrange Park, Tristan (Heather) of Rockville, MD, Joshua (Jennifer) of Mount Prospect, and Rebecca Poje of Hawaii; grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Hesse, Nathan and Adam Poje, and Olivia Carroll; great-grandson, Antwan Carroll; siblings, Stephen (Maureen) Poje of Indiana, PA, Bernadette Cavadi of Highland Mills, NY, and Thomas Poje of San Francisco, CA; and nephew and nieces, Tony, Julia, Elyse, Elizabeth and Sarah. 

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosaleen (nee McCoy); and brother-in-law, Billy Cavadi. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dick’s name may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
