Station Middle School Student is Finalist in Doodle 4 Google

Meg Mehta is the only Illinois young artist in the competition.

Artwork by seventh-grader Meg Mehta from the Barrington Middle School-Station Campus will represent all Illinois students in the nationwide Doodle 4 Google contest. Mehta’s concept for the international search engine’s homepage will now be considered with the winners from 49 other states.

Mehta received the news from Google representatives against a backdrop of balloons, gifts and a large 5-foot by 8-foot rendering of her state-winning illustration.

Her illustration shows her best day ever: "My best day ever would include a day of skiing followed by a yummy dessert, a puppy (I've been dreaming of this since kindergarten), all A+ on my report card (esp. Math), a healthy earth and a good James Patterson book to read when I fall asleep. Best day ever!"
