18-month-old Sebastian Kusnir was pronounced dead after he ran towards the truck while it was backing out of the driveway, authorities said.
BARRINGTON, IL— A 1-year-old boy was killed Tuesday evening after his father backed over the toddler in what appears to be a tragic accident, according to the Lake County sheriff's office.
The boy was identified as 18-month-old Sebastian Kusnir. An autopsy confirmed Sebastian died from multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the incident, according to a statement from the Lake County medical examiner's office.
A preliminary investigation showed the truck accidentally rolled over the child when Sebastian ran towards his father's pickup truck as the man was backing out of the driveway at their West Drake Road home, police said. When the driver started to turn the pickup truck to pull forward, one of the front tires rolled over the toddler.
