Volunteers Needed for Service Day Inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr.
JourneyCare and HandsOn Suburban Chicago is looking for volunteers to prepare and/or deliver care packages to JourneyCare patients.
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, JourneyCare and HandsOn Suburban Chicago is sponsoring a national day of service, "Soup & Stories...Comfort and Conversations for Family and Friends."
Area youth are encouraged to volunteer and personally prepare and/or deliver care packages on Monday, Jan. 20, containing soup, a blanket and conversation cards to JourneyCare patients and families throughout the community.
Volunteers are also needed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at JourneyCare's Barrington offices at 405 Lake Zurich Rd., to help assemble the packages and prepare them for delivery on Jan. 20.
