Win a Turkey at Nicasa's "Cold Turkey Trot" 5K Run/Walk
Runners can win a turkey as well as medals at Nicasa's Cold Turkey Trot 5K on Sunday, November 23rd.

Runners have an opportunity to win a turkey at Nicasa’s “Cold Turkey Trot” 5K Run/Walk at Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville on Sunday, November 23. Turkeys will be awarded to the top three fastest male and female finishers as well as raffled off to two random participants.
Approximately 150 individuals and families from across Lake County are expected to participate in this event that shows support for healthy lifestyles and recovery from drugs and alcohol.

The 5K is organized by the volunteer group, Friends of Nicasa, and is a fundraiser in support of healthy lifestyles and recovery from drugs and alcohol. Antonietta Simonian, a Libertyville resident and avid runner, is chairwoman of the event.
The event is generously sponsored by Prairie Benefits Network; Representative Ed Sullivan, Sheriff Mark Curran, the Law Offices of Stephen Simonian, Realtor Julie Pawl, Joel Kennedy Constructing Corp., Knauz Auto Group, Senior Operations, Murphy Ambulance, and North Shore Signs.
Race proceeds will benefit Nicasa, a behavioral health services organizationthat is helping build brighter futures for vulnerable and at-risk y children, adults and families in Lake County and northern Illinois. Founded in 1966, Nicasa’s network of dedicated and caring professionals has been pioneering award-winning efforts in prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery. Core services include in-school and after school programs, youth and family therapy, Teen Court, parent education classes, substance abuse and mental health counseling, gambling services, and a residential recovery program.

Packet Pick-Up: Race packets will be available on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Golden Legs Running, 508 N. Seymour, Mundelein, IL 60060 and on Race Day from 7:00-8:00am at Old School Forest Preserve. In person registration will also be available at both times.
