6 Houses Proposed At Former Water Tower Site In Batavia

The six homes would be built at 1600 W. Wilson Street if the city OK a developer's proposal.

BATAVIA, IL – Land where a water tower once sat in Batavia has now been vacant for more than a decade. Last year, a developer's plan to build a 12-unit apartment building on the property at 1600 W. Wilson St. failed to gain traction. But now, a new plan for six houses – all which would be priced in the mid-$200,000 range – is looking much more favorable to city officials, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Real estate investor Kevin Stough's proposal to build the six single-family homes was approved by the Batavia Plan Commission last month and was expected to be discussed at the Batavia City Council meeting on Oct. 3, according to the Kane County Chronicle.

If approved, the developer would move forward with the plan to build the two-story homes, which would have three bedrooms and two baths, a two-car attached garage and would measure between 1,300 and 1,500 square feet.
