American Honey Queen to Visit Batavia Public Library

Families are invited to learn about honey bees and their importance

Maia Jaycox, the 2017 American Honey Queen, will visit the Batavia Public Library at 4:30 p.m., May 22, to talk to families, especially children, about honey bees and their very important role in nature.

Jaycox is touring the country as a representative of the American Beekeeping Federation, and her visit to Batavia is sponsored by the Fox Valley Beekeepers Association.

The presentation includes a photo op with the Honey Queen, an optional honey tasting, a Q & A session, and bee related activities for the kids. Children also can view and touch some of the tools beekeepers use.
