Barber Shop Plans To Commemorate Peace Bridge Anniversary

The 10-year anniversary celebration will include cake, ice cream, and an attempt for enough people to hold hands and span the bridge.

BATAVIA, IL --- Batavia's iconic Peace Bridge will mark its 10th anniversary this year, and one local business plans to celebrate the occasion in style. On Jan. 26, Foltos Tonsorial Parlor will celebrate, with cake, ice cream, song, and an attempt to hold hands and make a human bridge that spans the length of Peace Bridge.

Craig Foltos, the owner of Foltos Tonsorial Parlor, a beloved barber shop in town, announced the plans via Facebook Tuesday. Foltos encouraged as many residents to come out to the shop at 4 a.m. as possible, saying "We need a lot of people for this, so please join us at the shop. Bring your singing voice. We all need peace in our life."
