Effective April 1, 2021, the Section 8 waiting list for three-bedroom units at Mercy Housing's Batavia Apartments opened for applications. The Batavia Apartments is located in Batavia, Illinois. Batavia Apartments is a 290-unit multifamily housing development, comprised of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Of the apartments, 258 are subsidized through the HUD Section 8 Program under which residents pay only 30% of their adjusted income for rent. The remaining 32 apartments are Market Rate apartments. There are 18, three-story garden style walkup buildings with extensive grounds that include a children’s playground area and fenced basketball court. Batavia Apartments also offers a resident resource center with computer lab, where residents can gather for tutoring services, educational programs and many other personal enrichment activities.

A Resident Service Coordinator is on staff to provide residents with support and advocacy while linking them to the community services available in the area.The office for Mercy Housing's Batavia Apartments is located at 1259 E. Wilson Street in Batavia. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Those interested should stop by the office to pick up an application and/or fill one out.
