Batavia Fireworks Rescheduled After Rainout

Severe thunderstorms rained out the annual celebration, but you've got a second chance!

BATAVIA, IL — Severe thunderstorms put a damper on several Fourth of July fireworks shows Wednesday, including the Batavia Sky Concert. The annual Batavia fireworks show was canceled late Wednesday, but has been rescheduled for Thursday night.

Officials say food vendors and musicians will participate in Thursday's fireworks display and that the event will not be canceled "for rain alone."

With a lessened chance of precipitation providing an auspicious forecast, the Batavia Fourth of July fireworks show will kick off a 9 p.m. July 5. Get to Engstrom Park early to reserve a spot to keep your Independence Day celebration going.
