BATAVIA, IL — Wondering where to find the best 4th of July in and around Batavia? This guide will help you find nearby fireworks displays, carnival rides, and other Independence Day events in Chicago's western suburbs.

Aurora

Aurora will celebrate Fourth of July on July 4 with fireworks and other festivities in RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The American Legion Band will perform live tunes from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. then the Fox Valley Orchestra will take the stage to perform rousing patriotic tunes and pop songs.
Aurora's fireworks display will create a dazzling show after dark. Shuttle service is available for the event.

Batavia

Batavia has a ton of fun activities planned for its Fourth of July Sky Concert. The fun starts at Main St. and Millview with an assortment of food vendors and trucks. At 6 p.m., Orange Star will perform popular hits and at 8:15 p.m., Batavia Community Band performs patriotic tunes to get revelers pumped for the night's fireworks display.

Downers Grove

The annual Downers Grove 4th of July Parade will step off from Grant and Main St. at approximately 12:45 p.m., with patriotic floats playing music and tossing candy to kids as the parade heads south to Warren St.

At 9:45 p.m., an epic fireworks display will illuminate the sky at 75th and Lemont for the joint 4th of July finale courtesy of Downers Grove, Darien, and Woodridge.

Glen Ellyn

Glen Ellyn will go all out on 4th of July with a day packed with activities. The fun begins with the the Freedom Four run at 8 a.m., followed by the village's annual Fourth of July Parade.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., live music will fill the air as kids and grownups alike enjoy games and other outdoor activities.

The fireworks display begins after dark at Lake Ellyn, where boathouse seating is available for some amazing views over the water.

Naperville

Naperville will change things up a bit this year by having fireworks on July 4 at the start of Ribfest, a four-day fest featuring performances by Steven Tyler, Pitbull, and Stray Cats. The fireworks show, which is sponsored by Meijer, will be held at South Park, where general admission is free after 5 p.m.

Wheaton

Kids can have fun with carnival games and rides in Graf Park on July 3 as they burn off energy in anticipation of the evening's epic fireworks display. Live DJ music will keep the crowd dancing and plenty of refreshments and eats will be available for purchase.

Bring a blanket and secure your spot before 9 p.m. on July 3 to watch Wheaton's annual fireworks display.
The city's parade steps off near Northside Park at 10 a.m. and makes its way through downtown Wheaton before stopping at City Hall.
