Batavia Kicks Off 2021 Slow Down Campaign
Newly designed signs are available for residents to place in their yards, reminding drivers to slow down through neighborhoods.

BATAVIA, IL—Summer is almost here and Batavia Police are reminding residents to slow down for children with their 2021 campaign.
The effort is aimed at getting drivers to ease of the pedal while traveling through residential neighborhoods.
Bright, yellow yard signs with the words “SLOW DOWN” are being given to residents through September 6. They can be picked up at Batavia City Hall.

Police ask that the signs be placed on a homeowners own property, and not in a parkway. This could reduce driver visibility.
Residents may keep their signs at the end of the campaign, or return them to the Batavia Police Department.
