Batavia Offers Hazardous Waste Front Door Collection
The service is offered at no additional cost to residents.

BATAVIA, IL --- Batavia residents now have a safe and convenient way to get rid of hazardous household waste. The city recently announced that it has partnered with a provider called U.S. Ecology to offer front door pickup of household hazardous waste at no additional charge.
Residents can call U.S. Ecology at 866-373-8357 anytime Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. to schedule a collection in advance. City officials advise that household hazardous waste collection is limited to 22 homes monthly, so residents may be put on a waiting list if a pickup isn't available.
After you've scheduled a pickup appointment, you will receive a kit that includes a 30-gallon bag, labels, and instructions for disposing of your hazardous waste. U.S. Ecology will phone customers a day prior to pickup, then all you have to do is leave the full bag outside on your porch or on the curb outside of your home.
