The Fastest Boston Marathon Finisher from Batavia Is ...

Congrats to local runners who finished the prestigious Boston Marathon.

Several Tri-Cities runners have accomplished the daunting task of finishing the Boston Marathon. On Monday, April 17, more than 30,000 runners took off from Hopkinton and traveled 26.2 miles to Boston.

Kenyan runner Geoffrey Kirui won the marathon with a time of 2:09:37 while Edna Kiplagat, also from Kenya, won the women's race with a time of 2:21.52.

Katherine Duraski was the fastest runner to cross the finish line from Batavia with a time of 3:36:17, according to unofficial results. Midge Good of Batavia also competed in the Boston Marathon, finishing in 4:32:41.
